BTC and GP+S are creating an integrated player for business and technology consulting and implementation from a single source.

With retroactive effect from January 1, BTC AG is acquiring 100% of Bad Homburg-based GP+S Consulting GmbH, which will continue to operate as an independent consulting firm after the merger. The team of 25 permanent employees and a large network of freelancers brings expertise primarily in the area of strategic management consulting for growth and transformation.

GP+S Consulting is an internationally active consulting and service company. Its experts combine comprehensive expertise in strategy and organizational development with in-depth digitalization and technology know-how as well as many years of operational implementation experience. BTC customers will now benefit from the integrated business and IT expertise in the form of reduced management effort for different partners and simplified, flexible, and efficient project execution.

Business and IT – Strengthened consulting and service expertise in digital transformation

Jörg Ritter, member of the BTC Executive Board responsible for sales and corporate development: "We are delighted about the merger and the strengthening of the BTC Group. GP+S is successful in the market and will retain its independence. Within the group, we benefit from broad expertise in the field of strategic management consulting. In the future, we will be able to provide our customers with even more comprehensive support for the digitalization transformation process. Our core competence in IT strategy, implementation, and operation is complemented by extensive experience in the development of business strategies."

Cordula Böhm, one of the three managing directors of GP+S, adds: "We are increasingly noticing that companies today want end-to-end consulting and services from a single source. As part of the BTC Group, we can leverage this advantage of a broader portfolio in management consulting, for our CAPAMAP software solution, and in the placement of freelance experts even more frequently and benefit mutually from knowledge transfer."

The two companies got to know each other through joint customer projects and discovered synergies. GP+S has been supporting its customers with strategic consulting through transformation processes for over 20 years and has found a partner in BTC.

Five1 GmbH & Co. KG supports medium-sized and international companies with all types of SAP advanced analytics solutions.

Oldenburg/Walldorf, 12. November 2021

On November 5, 2021, BTC AG and Five1 signed the purchase agreement sealing BTC's 100% takeover of the data analytics and data science experts from Baden-Württemberg. With this move, SAP Gold Partner BTC is further expanding its SAP consulting capacity while strengthening its regional foothold in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan area. The Five1 location is in close proximity to SAP in Walldorf.

The acquisition of Five1 is part of BTC's growth strategy to grow both organically and inorganically in order to meet the increased digitization needs of its customers and expand its own market portfolio with SAP Analytics and data science.

“This allows BTC to expand its expertise in the field of data analytics and offer new data science solutions, e.g., in the field of AI-based forecasts based on Amazon Web Services components,” says Dr. Jörg Ritter, CEO of BTC AG.

Five1 GmbH & Co. KG

Five1 GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 2008 by four shareholders, each holding a 25 percent stake in the company. In order to fully meet customer requirements, the start-up developed professional products to complement SAP solutions, closing existing gaps in the SAP portfolio. In 2016, the medium-sized company from Walldorf also began to include big data and data science projects in its service portfolio in collaboration with AWS (Amazon Web Services).

The three managing directors, Christophe Mutzig, Marcel Salein, and Sven Zech, continue to head the new BTC subsidiary in Walldorf.

BTC acquires best-blu and SEC BTC customers benefit from the strategic acquisition of BPA specialist best-blu and the additional SAP IS-U consultants from SEC.

Oldenburg, 27. September 2018.

On September 25, 2018, BTC Business Technology Consulting AG acquired the consulting firm best-blu consulting with energy GmbH from Salzgitter and the SAP service provider in the energy sector Selecta Energy Consulting GmbH from Kelkheim.

“With best-blu, BTC is gaining one of the most relevant consulting firms in Germany in the field of business process automation and workload automation,” explains Dr. Jörg Ritter, CEO of BTC AG. In view of the increasingly complex IT infrastructures in companies, it is becoming more and more important to automate the control of the IT backbone. Only on the basis of a functioning and automated control system, known as business process automation (BPA), can it be ensured that business processes such as electricity billing or tariff changes run smoothly and without problems. “Digitalization in the industries addressed by BTC, with their multi-layered IT landscapes, is inconceivable without automation,” emphasizes Dr. Jörg Ritter.

“For us, business process automation stands for the networking, automation, monitoring, and orchestration of highly complex IT processes,” adds Christian Rothberger, Managing Director of best-blu. “With our in-depth expertise in BPA and as one of the few CA Automic Premium Partners in Germany, we can strengthen BTC's portfolio in a unique way.” BTC's outsourcing and cloud customers will benefit in particular from the acquisition of best-blu. BITS, BTC's data center and IT services subsidiary, has already been working with the BPA experts from Salzgitter. best-blu has also developed the interface between the CA Automic solution and the SAP system, which is becoming increasingly important for the energy industry. The best4automic toolbox from best-blu currently has a unique selling point in the market. The second BTC acquisition is the “sister” company of best-blu. SEC Selecta Energy Consulting GmbH from Kelkheim is a classic SAP consulting firm that focuses on the SAP solution IS-U in the energy sector and strengthens BTC's consulting resources in this field.

Both companies will continue to operate under their existing names and with their existing customer bases. Dirk Thole, BTC board member responsible for finance and human resources, emphasizes that the employees of both consulting firms will remain in their familiar environments and provide support for BTC projects as needed. The previous managing directors of both companies, Rüdiger Schreiber (SEC) and Christian Rothberger (best-blu), will retain operational management. BTC will appoint Detlef Bartetzko as an additional managing director of the BPA division. SEC will also be managed by Andreas Kerker.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the amount of the transaction.
